TurboCAD Training Course for Furniture Makers
A Two Day Training Course for Furniture Makers using TurboCAD Professional
TurboCAD is the world’s top selling CAD system. It comes with advanced tools that you would only expect in packages costing thousands of pounds more. It enables drawing and viewing in both 2D and 3D at the same time.
Compatibility and ease of use are the two main strengths of this package. Professional TurboCAD reads and supports 29 file formats including 4 versions of DWG and DXF files, it has excellent compatibility with AutoCAD. Drawings can be saved to PDF. It is also compatible with Google SketchUp.
All of these qualities make it the most versatile CAD package on the market, useful for the initial planning, visual realisations and the detailed planning drawings for the workshop and all these in one drawing.
Furniture Maker v6 is a plug-in for TurboCAD designed specially for the kitchen and office designer. It comes with a library objects and enables simple changing of doors, clamps, office table footing, shelf footing, window and door panels etc, as well as materials and change of dimensions with subsequent data transfer to DAEX CUT, which offers data processing for production (list of parts, material total, optimizing of sectioning plans).
Complete beginners are advised to have some experience of TurboCAD to get the most out of the course. For those new to TurboCAD I will provide a free copy of TurboCAD Deluxe v14 on advance payment for the course. This will enable those new to the package to get somewhat familiar with the software prior to the course. I have some free and some inexpensive tutorials to get the beginner started.
Also provided free to those attending both days is a CAD Symbols CD containing 30 million symbols which retails at £59.
Numbers attending are limited to seven. I like to speak personally to each student before they attend to enable me to be fully prepared to deliver the most useful aspects of the package for each in the group.
Courses start at 10am and go straight through to 6pm. A light lunch is provided.
Those attending the course are qualified for 50% discount on TurboCAD Professional.

Getting there.
Our offices are in the centre of Winchester.
Road:
Winchester can be a difficult place to park. There are several car parks in the centre, but most are often full by 9.30 and some have time restrictions. A less stressful start to the day would be to use the Park and Ride, there are two, St Catherine’s and Barfield. St Catherine’s is the largest and best bet. It is off junction 11 of the M3. Get off the bus at Barclays Bank and you are in Jewry Street. Turn left as you get off the bus and walk straight, (across the road junction), for less than a minute. On your left you will see The Old Gaolhouse Pub, on your right the entrance to Sheridan House.
Train:
There is a frequent service from London Waterloo. The service is efficient and clean, normally with a snacks and drinks trolley at some point. Coming out of the station ask directions for either Jewry Street or the centre of town. You will walk out of the station and straight over some lights. The road bends slightly left. At the next lights turn right and you are in Jewry Street. Our offices are in Sheridan House, above a health food shop, just before The Old Gaolhouse Pub on your right.
Those wishing to attend both days can take advantage of our corporate rates at local hotels for as little as £69 B+B, but either day can be booked individually.
